  1. What else could the police have done. He gave several commands that a normal person should have listened to. I can’t tell exactly what happened when they were out of the video but a smart person would’ve listened to the commands. He seemed disoriented as well. I don’t know if he tried to get the weapon or not but he obviously could’ve saved himself.

    • This man was the dumbest criminal even if he was a criminal because I honestly don’t think so. Bt wtf? The cop was more compliant than my wife at times and he still couldn’t just relax and get assistance? Now he did some type of fukry and gave up his right and his life…smfh…STUPID…!

    • So yah tell me that me not listening to your “commands” mean i should get shot 5 times armed or unarmed???? One shot no enough anymore?

  2. What was this driver doing? The State Policeman even offered him a ride, even if not to his destination. Of course his car was going to be towed. Why did he get out of his car? Why did he get out of the police car and give the trooper trouble? This is State Police, not city police. Some of us may think they are security guards. Wrong. It’s possible the Policeman did not follow the procedures properly. A procedure the policeman to treat him like a suspect. I would feel at ease with this officer. Because he did not treat him like a jerk. Does the New Jersey State Police have less lethal weapons? Unfortunate. I heard in Jamaica they tell you to get out the car. Here they tell you to stay in the car. Can that car go 110mph? I think cars are governed. Drivers can lock drivers up for 100mph. Reckless driving, I think. The driver was a bit disoriented. But not enough to keep seated inside his car. Not disoriented enough to stay in the police car. Unfortunate. I say here, we need to fix our own country so we can thrive. We need to stop calling ourselves “black”. It means a threat, demon, dangerous, non human, wicked, unworthy and other bad meanings. The instinctive meaning of black is fear. Fear of non human figure. White is another bad term for us to use. If we are black, we are inferior to “white”. This is one of the reasons we cannot stop looking to Western European race for approval, love and acceptance and respect. While we do not have any of these emotions for ourselves. On a subconscious level. We need to be deliberate. Not emotional. No one is our friend. Also, our identity is that of the reprobate rapacious savage. Not normal European descended or Europeans that look like them. The names and identity we have are of those who hate us. We bare the names of our enemies.

    • Without a doubt this cop was very polite, i would of felt very easy and safe how this officer approach and spoke, the driver story didnt make any scene, going to a car dealership which is not open at this time as the cop mentioned, secondly he seamed disoriented, perhaps high but i dont know but disoriented for sure, i HATE police killings of black men but i cant find a reason to blame the cop, not on this one, home boy gave away his life, its that clear ,,,, situations like this is when we MUST say police have a dangerous job ,,,,, not when they outright commit murder of black men

    • U obviously have NVR been in a confrontation involving risk to ur life…..ELIMINATE THE THREAT UNTIL U FEEL SAFE….a negro I’m black and I’m telling u this “NIGGA” is the dumbest man I’ve seen in the history of dumbness….this cop was compliant, all he had to do was say please take me to the nearest coffee shop and he was thru… smfh

    • obviously yuh know nothing about these type of confrontations. The reason why cops load off everything pon yuh more while is if you do your research you’ll find that an attacker under Adrenaline will not even notice the first one or two shots they get. this means that in the heightened moment they can still harm you or worst case disarm you.

    • Hello Matthew,
I understand your frustration and completely support your opinion on the character of the police officer. Nevertheless, Matthew, could you identify that the deceased was ‘high’ possibly disabled? As a an officer of Service, Protection and Safety would you shot a disabled person dead just the way the officer did Mr. Gordon? If so, please shot him in the once while on his knees since you are a cold blooded murderer, it shows more ferocity.

      With Love
      Liberica

      • Liberia…honestly I’m gonna ask u once, wht else could the cop possibly do? He literally told him he lost his licenses and then offered him a ride to Anywhere he was headed. I’m not being bias bt after all that and u attack me I’m gonna do anything to put u down, ur rabid… and thts a fact think about it before ur reply to the comment…

  3. This fellow seemed like he was having some psychological issues. His behavior – leaving the car(s) when he was told not to, responding with “far out” when he was asked about his destination, and just the general sound if his voice all indicated that he was not doing well mentally in the moment. He sounded like he has given up on something. Spaced out sometimes. Regardless, it’s a very sad ending…and I can’t even call police brutality. The police was very polite, courteous, and helpful until he decided to jump ship.

    • I like this cops approach. He was very polite and courteous. The man seemed to be disoriented and uneasy. In regards to the shooting, the police man could have used his taizer instead of his gun and he did not have to shoot him so many times but I guess he panicked.

  4. 5. He seemed out of it not sure why he was running around. The officer wasn’t being a jerk at all. Cops shoot to kill although he could have shot him in the legs. I don’t see this as cold blooded murder however the family may not see it that way and have the right to an inquiry.

  6. Despite what anyone has to say about this, lethal force was not necessary. The guy was unarmed. How many times was he shot? I heard a few. We can argue about this and that, whether or not he was drunk or high on drugs, lethal force could have been avoided. What happened to pepper spray, stun guns or even a shot in the leg. These officers are either poorly trained or they fear black people so much that they rather not take any chances, smh. The concern here was not to serve and protect really. I don’t know what that was.

      • They expect the officer to let a person who isn’t 100% cognitive base on his behavior and reaponses to: Push him into traffic, Chase him into traffic, disarm him, and possibly shoot him, take the cruiser, Standby while he fling himself into traffic? This case is on the low tone because the audio and what video we see supporters the chain of events reported. PLUS, the man roommate states that he wasn’t behaving right for a while, driver was in contact with up to 2 other officers at the earliest of morning hours before he got to this final stop.

    • Unfortunately police are not trained to shoot in legs or arms. You trained to hit the body mass which is the torso area. The threat should to be eliminated and if it takes 3 shots to do it, so be it. For the officer to give him one shot, it would be at the officer’s personal discretion and outside of training. We dont know if the young man attempted to take the officer’s gun. What we do know is that the officer feared for his life and took action. Whether the young man had a mental health issue, its not for the officer to diagnose at the time of engagement.

  7. All I want to know is what was he charged for? What crime did he commit to make the officer order him to stay in the vehicle? If there is no crime then this is first degree murder in my eyes.

    • Its customary for officers to ask civilians to stay in their car. The car was on a highway and its protocol for the officer’s and civilian’s safety. Nothing wrong with asking the young man to stay in the car. It was wrong to attack the officer, that is for sure.

    • EXACTLY, he was charged so he had all right to the the car if he wanted to. This is a small part of the video, in the original he tried to leave several time after he realized that he was in the officer’s car for more than 15 mins… This was an unfair stop. HE DIDN’T NEED TO SHOT HIM, IT’S A HIGHWAY, WHERE WOULD HE HAVE RAN OFF TOO??

      • What? You first sentence off. He was offered a seat in the Patrol car due to his car being disabled. The officer already see that his replies weren’t coherent…any fair minded person can hear that.
When you are broken down on a highway the patrol car is more recognizable to oncoming traffic, so sitting in one is sort of a good idea then your car which may have stopped haphazardly on the shoulder.

The death is tragic, but victims actions are highly questionable. Prevent betta than cure.

  8. Smile

I saw a the video of a white guy clearly intoxicated or not mentally stable, fight a female and a male officers to the ground got took their patrol car and drove it away not even as much as a taser was used, while u can’t see full whats occurring out of shoot of the cameras the first question should be was lethal force the only option? The guy could be unwell unstable anything, and while the offer repeated his command clearly, pls don’t be so quick to condemn another human being, another black human being.

  9. Was Maurice intoxicated? Something wasn’t right
With him. Cop was very polite with him. Something strange going on with Maurice. Sad he lost his life
    Like that.

  10. How could he be responsible for his death?
Firstly, he was not under arrest. Therefore he had a right to walk away as he feel fit to. Secondly he was the one who asked to go sit into the police car, after the officer highlighted that his car was in an unsafe area of the street. Thirdly he was answering the policeman’s questions. The police never wrote a ticket for the offense he initially stopped him for neither at anytime he informed that he was under arrest. Why was he trying to stop him from walking away???????? At what point is a unarmed man walking away from you become a threat??????

  11. The young man caused his own death. He was resisting the officer’s request to remain in the car and he was also fighting the policeman. However the young man seemed dazed and disoriented and perhaps using a taser or stun gun would have been a more acceptable force to neutralise him rather than shooting him repeatedly. Condolences to his family

  12. Really the police was very polite,I only faulted him for not observing that dude was incoherent therefore he should have called for backup or handcuffed him for his safety when he decided not to stay put in his car. However dude build his own coffin and laid in it.I can tell the cop has a heart he is probably a mental wreck now

  13. Lmao, he was shot before he was charged, didnt you notice that, the cop said he was doing 110 mph, that’s why he pulled him over, he was naturally going to get a speeding ticket, the cop wanted him to stay in the car so he would feel safer, plus they were on a highway, cops want you to stay in your car, he gave his life away before charges were laid, he could also been arrested for reckless and dangerous driving, go over the video and carefully, maybe you will get it

  14. Sir P to be honest with you he’s a black man like myself but trust me if I was in the police position I would have done the same thing. Honestly that is even one a the reason why no one is really saying the want justice for him because clearly the police was trying to be nice to him offer to bring him go where he’s going etc etc and clearly him on come come are sumn

  15. Sir P. The minutes I saw this video I knew immediately that this young man was his own worst enemy. That was suicide.

A lot of blacks just need to stop viewing incidents from a bias of what white officers has done to blacks, but evaluate at each issue on it’s own merit.

The cop did what he had to do to defend himself, and if I were that cop, I would not have done any differently.

  16. Man gi whe him life yaa man. Jus obey the officer and him good. Who to tell him neva even a try disarm squaddy.

  17. I don’t understand why majority couldn’t realise that this guy was obviously ‘high’ or some form of substance abuse. Even though the officer tried to subdue him, one shot would have been enough to maintain the situation.
With that being said, Mr. Gordon could have been mentally challenged based on his inability to remain still not to follow commands but to remain still he always have to keep moving around. His speech flow is factor that can be considered to support his mental challenge theory.
Police need to be trained to identify these disabilities when conducting traffic stops… basic psychology especially in reading body language should be added to police Curriculum.

    • You couldn’t say mental you gone to drugs? He encountered 2 separate police department before this final one…none got him for intoxication. His roommate reported that he hasn’t been himself as of late. He was on a mental break in my opinion. Toxicology would have to say otherwise.

  18. This young man gave away his life. This is plain stupidity. Ask yourself the question, if you were in the officers position, what would you have done? Mi a real Jamaican a talk chute

  19. As far as I can see the cop was not racist at all with his approach towards his job. He asked several questions and got answers that in jamaica we call disrespect even when he said he was going far out the officer looked down to the ground as if he was telling himself to remain calm. As in regards to him getting shot he had to be shot he was over powering the officer and it seemed the officer was alone…now how would that look for a high guy on the highway to over power you and take your weapon then turn and him you same one with it …I guess the cop saw that far and was making sure that didn’t happen to him..its said to say he gave away his life.

  20. As far as I can see the cop was not racist at all with his approach towards his job. 21. I must say, this man got chance upon chances and he kept on running and fighting the cop. What was his problem? He seemed troubled to me… He gave his life away….

  22. Fuckery your talking, high or disabled the police officer from our view point was been attacked repeatedly, and he still repeatedly gave commands. He could have shot him from the onset attack, however the officer gave chances. You ask if one would shoot a disabled person, I really don’t think any of us would, however been attacked and possibly been overpowered then you’re getting it. I’M BLACK AND THIS WAS WARRANTED.

  23. If the dude had mental issues, sorry that he died. A lot of cops in America and other parts of the world is known to be racist and their job is very, very difficult as well. This cop however didn’t show no type of animosity in no type of way. He had to fight for his life, and it was either him or the other guy
