Introducing Jamaica’s Floorball Team But What Is Floorball?

Nuff people say they can’t believe, Jamaica we have a floorball team!

You might be wondering what is that? well, the best way to think of it is hockey without the ice.

Floorball has been played since the early 20th Century. Similar to floor hockey, Floorball is played with sticks (96–115.5 cm-long), ball (22–23 cm-circumference) and two-goal nets.

Each team has five players and a goalkeeper. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods and have many similarities to floor hockey rules.

The fact that the game isn’t played on ice means that Jamaica can actually prepare and train without having to worry about access to ice rinks.

Even though the sport is still fairly new to the global masses, Jamaica already has a team.

They have competed in competitions in Canada, the US and as far as Sweden.

It’s only fitting that they get the first-ever Sports post on Politricks Watch. Less popular sports like floorball tend to have a hard time in Jamaica getting sponsorships as there isn’t much hype and the country runs on hype.

That is until they win some big trophy then you see the bandwagon start to pile up *cough* Reggae girls *cough*

The sport actually has a federation in Jamaica, you can contact them at Jamaica Floorball Association

Big up the Floorball team. Wish you guys the best as you take on the world one stick at a time.
