The Minister of Security Horace Chang has claimed that according to his intelligence, 200 illegal guns a month enter Jamaica.
Which would mean 2400 illegal firearms a year enter Jamaica.
The question then becomes how did Horace Chang get to this figure?
The fact that the guns are unseen and undetected would surely mean there is no possible way to know how many there are right?
If you can’t track or find these illegal weapons then there is no real way to know how many are imported.
What intelligence could give him such information that couldn’t also tell him where these guns come from and where they are headed?
He then goes on to state that even when the security forces seize 100, “we not getting anywhere”.
This also sounds like someone who is just throwing out numbers. 100, 200 sound more like lazy figures he is throwing out to make a point.
None of this sound like it is driven by “intelligence”.
These statements were made in relation to the huge drug bust near St Thomas that had a street value of $4.5 billion.

We need to start asking these politicians more questions, they have been living life too easy at the tax payer expense.
I do not think he knows. They only find the tips of the iceburgs. I initially thought it was more than that. But maybe it could be less. But the quantity increases. Are any rusty old guns being found or taken off of street individuals? No becse, it’s easy to get a brand new high performance brand name almost cheap? Guns are probably being sent through Jamaica. As one alternative route.
Intellegence!? These people do not know much. They aren’t interested to reduce bag and personal items grabbing out by Gordon House. Wy would they be bothered to cultivate ingellegence about smuggling illegal guns into their constituence? Have they thought of how much money the Gov’t would make if they decided to arm Jamaicans? Maybe he knows something that the people of Jamaica don’t know and he’s just throwing that number out there, because people are gonna think he’s just talking, just to talk. I mean, he’s the Minister of Security, I still can’t believe that because he’s actually a Medical Doctor with no experience for the post he serves 😂😂😂😂. But on a serious note, that could be the amount he’s importing himself. That’s the only way he could be so certain, as to how much guns is being imported on a monthly basis 🤔🤔🤔
